BOWLING FOR SHED-26

I'M TAKING REQUESTS OR RESERVATIONS FOR A BOWL A FELLOW SHEDIAN WOULD LIKE TO WATCH. ROSE? BCS CHAMPIONSHIP? WHAT DO THINK?

Unceremonious Endings

The Pats season ended as the clock struck 6:46 PM. With a Jets loss and a Baltimore victory, all hope was lost and we closed the books on another season. And I sat in my living room, surrounded by unwrapped and yet unused gifts, the laughter and bickering of children, and the feeling of emptiness that comes from a shed-less day.

I wait and hope that a Christmas wish will be answered and the Shed will open for business for Wildcard weekend. If so, I'll be there with hot food and good cheer.

Happy New Year to all

Most Considerate Scavenger of the Year . . .

Andy said his nephew wanted a skateboard.
Frank saw one on the side of the road by Christmas Motors on the way to the shed from work that night.
Kevin said it belonged to Steve's son. It fell off the car roof on the way to the shed.
Steve said not to worry about it, they'd get it on the way home.
Bob said he saw it, too, and he had stopped and picked it up on the way to the shed and had it in his car.
The circle was complete.

For his unselfish devotion to his fellow shed members, and his willingness to be the only one to actually stop, get out of the car, and pick up the skateboard, I nominate Bob for . . .

Shed 26 Most Considerate Scavenger of the Year

Good luck Bob! Keep up the good work!

THE STEELERS ARE AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME AND AT THE TOP OF MOST STAT LISTS. THE PATRIOTS ARE CLICKING WITH CASSEL HAVING THROWN 800 YARDS PLUS, THE LAST TWO WEEKS. WEEK 13 WILL ASK THE QUESTION: CAN THE PATS SEE WHAT IS BEHIND THE STEEL CURTAIN? MAYBE IT'S BIG BEN BUT I'M HOPING FOR THE WIZARD. PITT MAYBE A LITTLE TO CONFIDENT, BECAUSE OF HOW WELL THEY'RE PLAYING. THE PATS HAVE TO HIT'EM HARD WITH SOME MORRIS ON THE GROUND SOME 83 - 33 -AND 81 IN THE AIR. THE LOCAL 22 ARE ON THEIR WAY TO F-L-A. CASSEL IS COMING OFF HIS FIRST BRADY-LIKE GAME OF THE SEASON. THE RUNNING BACKS ARE LOOKING MORE AND MORE HEALTHY BY THE DAY. THE ONLY PROBLEM I CAN SEE IS THE HEALTH AND PLAY OF THE DEFENSE. THE PATS NEED TO CONTAIN MR. BROWN AND MR. WILLIAMS. BOTH RUNNING BACKS ARE RUNNING WILD. Q.B. CHAD HAS ALSO BEEN REBORN IN F-L-A. THE PLAYOFFS ARE THE KEY FACTOR FOR THIS GAME. THE PATS NEED THIS DIVISION WIN DOWN THE ROAD TO KEEP UP WITH THE J-E-T-S.

Former ASU star Pedroia named AL MVP

Though small in stature, AL MVP Pedroia proves no ceiling is too high
by Jeff Metcalfe - Nov. 19, 2008 12:00 AM
The Arizona Republic

Dustin Pedroia couldn't help but peek beyond the camera to the field below, where he starred for Arizona State and where the Sun Devils were practicing. He saw hustle guys such as the Torrez brothers, Raoul and Riccio; and Zack MacPhee, who remind ASU coach Pat Murphy of Pedroia.

"Baseball is fun for me," said Pedroia, who was introduced Tuesday as the Red Sox's 10th MVP, one year after he was named the AL Rookie of the Year and won a World Series ring. "I love doing it. There is nothing else I'd rather be doing than playing baseball."
The 25-year-old second baseman received 16 of 28 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers Association of America to win by a comfortable 60 points over Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau and by 116 over infield teammate Kevin Youkilis.

Pedroia is the eighth AL player to earn MVP, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards in the same season. He and the Chicago Cubs' Ryne Sandberg are the only major-league second basemen to accomplish that.

Other MVP players from ASU are seven-time winner Barry Bonds and Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson.

"I just marvel at what he's been able to accomplish," Murphy said of Pedroia, who played at ASU from 2002-04. "This game is hard to play, period. If you're not gifted with unbelievable physical skills, it's even harder. He's been able to overcome all odds. Every young kid in America should go, 'Wow, that's a sport I can play if I have my insides churning the way a kid like he does.' "

At 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds, not much bigger than he was in college, Pedroia is unimposing. Yet he tied for the major-league lead in hits (213) and led in doubles (54). He led the AL in runs (118) and multihit games (61) and was second in batting average (.326), two points behind Minnesota's Joe Mauer.

"I remember when I was growing up and I wasn't the biggest guy in the world, all the guys I looked up to were big," Pedroia said. "I looked up to Barry Bonds and (former San Francisco Giants first baseman) Will Clark. There was never that smaller guy I could compare myself to or try to be. If I'm doing that for one kid, that's amazing."

Pedroia lives in Chandler with his wife, Kelli, who also attended ASU. They were among a large group that vacationed in Kona, Hawaii, last Christmas as guests of Murphy. Others on the trip included former Sun Devils players Andre Ethier and Willie Bloomquist.

All had good major-league seasons. Ethier hit .305 with 20 home runs and 77 RBIs for the Dodgers. Bloomquist hit a career-best .279 with the Mariners. Pedroia, in addition to his other statistics, had 17 homers and 83 RBIs.

"(Former ASU standout and current Athletics outfielder) Travis Buck saw me and said, 'When is Hawaii? I need to get on that trip,' " Murphy said. "Craig Counsell (who played for Murphy at Notre Dame) wants to play some more and said he needs to be coming to Hawaii. Willie is taking 30 people over next weekend to the same place. It's a good-luck thing."

Pedroia, leaving today for a vacation in Mexico, fondly remembers the Hawaii trip that launched a year in which he would join the ranks of Red Sox immortals Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski as the AL MVP.

"We relaxed and hung out and talked," Pedroia said. "I never really get a chance to sit back and enjoy anything in the off-season. Once I get home, I usually start working out and focusing on the next season. That's how I am. That helped me take some time off and realize it's pretty special what's going on."

Gardenway Gang

The shedmen of Garden Way will only be making a 1st half appearance at Shed Entertainment and Sprts Complex tonight . Yes we know it the Pats vs Colts, but we got early work on Monday.

ITS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SUNDAY

SUNDAY IS HERE AGAIN. THE PATS AND THE COLTS. THIS IS WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD FOR THE PATS. THE 5-2 PATS NEED TO PROVE TO ME THAT THEY BELONG ON TOP OF THE AFC EAST. I BELIEVE THAT WITH THE COLTS MANNING LED OFFENSE AND THE SANDERS LED DEFENSE THE COLTS BRING MORE THAN THEIR RECORD SHOWS. CASSEL HAS MADE STRIDES TO IMPROVE HIS GAME. THE PROBLEM IS OBVIOUSLY THE PATS PASS DEFENSE. THE PATS GREATEST TEST THIS YEAR IS UPON THEM TONIGHT. TONIGHT IS WHEN WE REALIZE WHAT THE PATRIOTS ARE BRINGING TO THE TABLE THIS SEASON. LETS GO PATS

I felt like posting more pictures

Patriots VS. Rams Preview

Randy Moss
I am going to start right off with Mike Reiss from the Boston Globe's Prediction:

PREDICTION: From a talent standpoint, the Patriots are the superior team. The Patriots will likely commit their resources to ensuring Jackson doesn't beat them, assuming Jackson -- who is battling a thigh injury -- is healthy enough to play. That could leave the secondary in some challenging situations in the passing game. Pass protection, as it usually does, should play an important role in the game. A player like Kevin Faulk could see an expanded role, as the Patriots are shorthanded at running back and he is adept in that area of the game. Prediction: Patriots 27, Rams 17

On ESPN 8 out of the 12 talking heads also pick the Patriots to win the game.

I will be enjoying the pats game this from the cosy confines of the Shed.

Hope to see you there.

For now I will leave you with your moment of Shed ZEN!

Holy War & Peace Batman

Great game last night.
Bummer about Rodney Harrison. He ends his career with the Pats along with a wake of hard hits and positive energy. On the upside, I have a sweet RH game jersey that I can wear forever... Unlike jerseys with names like Law, Bledsoe or Branch....

Now that's a post you can digest over a cookie. Bam!

Patriots and Bronkos Preview

Chad Pennington grabbed the New England Patriots' secondary and ripped it apart at the seams.

Philip Rivers pumped javelins down the sidelines.

Both methods lacerated the Patriots plenty. The Miami Dolphins beat them by 25, the San Diego Chargers by 20.

"Everyone has to realize it's a wound everyone's going to try to keep opening up until we heal it," Patriots cornerback Ellis Hobbs said. "It's there."

The Patriots' defensive backfield has been overwhelmed as much through five games as they were all last season. New England has given up seven pass plays of 30 yards or longer. That equals the number they yielded in 2007.

Their sixth game won't provide any respite.

The Patriots on Monday night will host the Denver Broncos at Gillette Stadium.

New England's beleaguered secondary will be asked to contain a pass attack ranked first in the AFC and second in the league at 279.3 yards a game entering Week 7.

"I don't know what the questions are for us," Hobbs told reporters this week. "I just know there are questions out there.

"We need to go into this game thinking 'I feel like my back's against the wall.' Our team's back is against the wall, and we have to come out swinging no matter what. It's early in the season. But this is how you get the momentum going."

After Miami came to Gillette Stadium in Week 3 and unleashed a dumbfounding game plan, New England's coaching staff -- a group that includes defensive architects Bill Belichick, coordinator Dean Pees and secondary coach Dom Capers -- had two weeks to strategize for Mike Martz's offense. The Patriots held the San Francisco 49ers to less than 200 total yards.

Last Sunday night, however, the Chargers bombed away.

Rivers, mostly picking on left cornerback Deltha O'Neal, completed passes of 48, 49, 59 and 22 yards. They weren't screen plays.

Hobbs also committed a 32-yard pass interference penalty to put the Chargers first and goal at the 1-yard line. Rivers found tight end Antonio Gates for a touchdown on the next play.

"I felt embarrassed," O'Neal said Wednesday. "I felt embattled. I felt like there were things I could have did that could have changed the outcome of the game. I'm my worst critic.

"I sat and thought about it the last couple of days, that whole flight home. I'm over it now."

Patriots fans should hope so.

Thunder-armed Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler has thrown for 1,694 yards and 12 touchdowns, numbers that rank third and fourth in the NFL.

When healthy, the Broncos have the most talented receiving corps. Brandon Marshall leads the NFL with 43 receptions despite being suspended for the season opener. Eddie Royal's 30 catches are tied for 11th even though he missed last week's game with an ankle injury. Royal is probable for Monday.

Cutler's other targets include Brandon Stokley (16 catches and two touchdowns the past three weeks) and tight end Tony Scheffler. Stokley suffered a concussion last week, while Scheffler is dealing with a groin injury. Both are questionable. Darrell Jackson, a three-time 1,000-yard receiver, is getting over a strained calf. He's listed as probable.

"They have a lot of different options and they really stress the defense in a lot of different ways," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "They can pack them in and bring in two or three tight ends. They can spread them out and go with four or five receivers, or flex out Scheffler, who is like another receiver.

"They can get as tight as you want to get, and they can get as spread out as you want to spread out, and they do a good job."

The Patriots rank 12th in pass defense, but their first two victories came against opponents who either couldn't or wouldn't throw.

They knocked Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle out of the game in Week 1 and fended off Damon Huard. The New York Jets still were trying to figure out how to use Brett Favre, who passed for only 181 yards in Week 2.

A lot of factors have played into the Patriots' shaky pass defense.

The most obvious was Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel's departure. The Patriots clearly knew this was a big deal because they signed free agents Fernando Bryant, Lewis Sanders and Jason Webster and drafted two corners in the first four rounds.

Belichick didn't like any of them more than O'Neal, whom the winless Cincinnati Bengals cut because they didn't think he was anything more than a nickelback.

Other developments have left New England's defensive backs fending for themselves more than in recent years. The vaunted defensive line isn't getting as much push as it used to, giving opposing quarterbacks that much more time to work and less time for New England's defensive backs less chance to recover -- or not be detected -- when beat early on a play.

The Patriots won't have an easy time putting pressure on Cutler or forcing him into bad decisions. The Broncos have allowed a league-low two sacks. Only the Kansas City Chiefs and Bengals -- one victory between them -- have recorded fewer sacks than the Patriots, who have seven.

Inescapable is the Tom Brady factor. Even the defense is affected.

Last year, with the record-breaking Patriots offense providing sizable leads before the echoes of "The Star-Spangled Banner" faded out, they had the NFL's seventh-ranked pass defense.

Under replacement Matt Cassel's direction, the Patriots have gone three-and-out on 14 of their 56 drives, sending the defense right back onto the field 25 percent of the time. They went three-and-out on 26 of their 170 possessions last year, a 15 percent frequency.

The longer games remain close, the less defenses can guess what's coming. Last year's Patriots turned loose on the quarterback and defended the pass from the second quarter on. This year's defense can't afford to commit so fully and, therefore, is unable to dictate.

"They've been all over the map a little bit," Cutler said. "You're not sure what you're going to get with those guys. I think they thought they could play man, control Rivers and the receivers and stop [LaDainian Tomlinson]. But they got hit with some big plays.

"It's going to be interesting to see what they do with us."

Go Pats. Go Celts. Do the Bruins still play?

Nuff said.

Well Here We Are Again . . .

Hello, fellow Shedians! After a great showing last night, the Shed is back in a familiar place! It's Game 7 of the ALCS! The past four times the Red Sox have made it to this level, it's gone 7 games! Terry Francona's Red Sox have been 9-1 in elimination games after last night. Like I said Wednesday night, the Red Sox have the Rays just where they want them! If you'll recall, the announcers were saying in games 3 & 4 how good the Ray's manager is at knowing the personalities of his players and how to get the most out of all of them. But, it looks like their youth and inexperience is what he's having a problem overcoming. I don't want to come out and make any predictions, but, I think it's fair to say I'm feeling very good about the Sox chances tonight! I could sense the beginning of the end after Pedroia drove in the first run in Game 5. Big Papi came up, and you could see he had the old smirk on his face and the pitcher and Ray's manager BOTH had that "Uh-oh!" look in their eyes. That's when the psychological battle began! Go Sox! Best of Luck tonight!

TWICE IS DICE

THURSDAY THE SHED WILL BE ROCKIN AND ROLLIN. THE SHED WILL OPEN AT 745. I HOWEVER, WILL BE A HEALTHY SCRATCH FOR THE FIRST HOUR DUE TO THE OLD LADY HAS A THING.

Let's Roll the Dice Again!!

Tonight is the night that we roll the Dice again. We need Dice K to help us save some face and throw a gem tonight. Are the shediganss going to be out in force tonight? We need japan style head bands and for the king to be playing the roll of Mr. Miyagi. Cocoboy you need to pass on the coco tonight and go straight for the Saki. Drew, you just go do the voodoo that you do so well. This is a big night for our hurt and bandaged team and they need to pull it together and win one for the Shed.

BlutoRemember not to ask what Dice K can do for you but rather what you can do for the Shed. It wasn't over when the German's bombed pearl harbor, just as it wasn't over when the Angels went up 3-1 and the Yankees 3-0. We are better than this and i can't do it for you. We need to all step up and bring it like only the shed knows how.

I know what some of you are saying, but the rays look good and they are to dumb to know they shouldn't be winning like this. I say bull shit! We played to hard for to long and have sacrificed to much to let it end like this. Say it with me, not in our HOUSE, NOT IN FENWAY. NOT ON OUR WATCH. Get mad you son of a bitches get mad! WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE.

Red Sox Have Rays Right Where They Want Them!

Yes, it was a long night alone in the Shed last night. Thanks to Andy for allowing me to watch what the Globe calls the "dismantling" of the Sox. It was definately not what any of us hoped would happen. It was worse.

But, let's not dwell on the past. Let's just use it to see where the minds of the Sox are. During the game last night, they showed a stat that 15 teams have been down 3-1 in ALCS play. Of those 15, 4 have come back to win. The Red Sox have done it 3 of those 4 times! Talk about psyching out an opponent! The announcers were saying that the Rays were not practicing today because there would be reporters around asking, "What if you loose the next one?" And the Rays mangement didn't want that seed planted in their player's heads! They're scared that their VERY young club will loose their confidence and their edge!

The Red Sox have the Rays right where they want them! Cowering in the lead, constantly looking over their shoulder to see WHEN their lead will shrink and disappear! I love this team! Francona is a GENIUS!

Drew Is #1!

Yes, that's right, it's a Two-fer! Drew Conquest is #1, and J.D. Drew is batting #1 tonight! Unfortuantely, we are only going to get to see J.D. Drew in the Shed tonight, though. Drew Conquest is staying over in Nantucket because a contractor didn't have the pool ready today. But, he has designated me as his stand-in for opening the Shed and greeting those members who are want to attend! So, come and join me to see our second favorite Drew open a can of whoop-ass on the Rays!

Throw butterflies. Eat meatballs.

Tonight, the long-standing Red Sox "ace", Tim Wakefield, takes the hill against the upstart Rays. God willing, he'll be throwing butterflies and I'll be eating meatballs... meatballs on pizza that is. I'll be watching in-between bedtime and homework arguments. However, I may make a cameo at the Shed with a meatball pizza in hand (I know they've been banned but we need to shake things up).

SORRY, TO THE KING

THE SHED-26 CREW HAVE VOTED... WE BELIEVE THAT IF WE OK'D THE FEMALE GENDER INTO OUR TESTOSTERONE BASED SHED-26, THE DOOR MIGHT BE WEDGED OPEN FOR FUTURE ADMITTANCE OF THE FEMALE GENDER. WE , SHED-26 REGULATORS, MUST STAND BY THIS DECISION. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER CIRCUMSTANCES AS MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS, OR WIVES. THE THREE FOREMENTIONED VARIABLES ARE WHAT THEY ARE. AGAIN, KING, WE ARE SORRY AND HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.

A woman of the female persuasion . . .

Gentlemen,

I have a question. A friend of mine of the female persuasion would like to watch the game on Friday night and does not have cable. I would like to put it to a vote as whether or not she may view the game at Shed 26. She is fine either way, but, does not want to intrude on the maleness of the Shed if it's not OK. Any comments?

That's right Shedians! Andy and I were there, dozing off after Masterson's not so masterful, but, galant effort. After the score was tied at 2 and the sox went down easily, we were both kind of dozing off when the Angels had a man on third. I heard them talking about that squeeze, and when they said "Here it comes!" I looked to see what we all expected. But, then the batter missed the bunt! Tek had the ball, the runner slammed on the brakes 2/3 of the way down the line, and Tek started his pursuit! Holding the ball high so that Youk could see it and react if needed, Tek chased down the runner with a couple of flinches, and the threat was over! Then, when the finished off the inning with the next batter, you just KNEW!

Bay's ground rule double just put the crowd on edge, and after one out, Lowrie put it through the infield and the crowd EXPLODED!!!!!

The Sox bench was empty before Bay even got to home! The party began!!!

It truley was a perfect game seen at the perfect place!

Thanks, Andy for coming out to the Shed! I wouldn't have been the same if we weren't on those hallowed recliners!

It's baseball playoff and football season.

Friday: Sox v. Rays
Saturday: Sox v. Rays
Sunday: Pats v. Chargers
Monday: Sox v. Rays
Tuesday: Sox v. Rays

Life is good!

Kevin is right about the Shed, "This is the best place in the world!"

play of the game, THE CAPTAIN JASON VARITEK CHASING DOWN THE BASE RUNNER Willits TO END THE THREAT IN THE 9TH

--

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox brushed aside the 100-win Angels in four games, dismissing their best-in-baseball regular season as last month's news.

When it turns to October, no one dominates like Boston.

Jason Bay scored with a headfirst slide on Jed Lowrie's two-out single in the ninth inning and the defending World Series champions took advantage of a botched suicide squeeze, beating Los Angeles 3-2 Monday night to win their first-round playoff series in four games.

Boston, which also won it all in 2004, will have a chance at a third title in five years if it can get past the Rays in the best-of-seven AL championship series that starts Friday night at Tampa Bay.

"That's what this team is about, especially the last few years," said Lowrie, a rookie who was called up as a midseason replacement when shortstop Julio Lugo was injured. "It's October, they've won a lot of games, and to be a part of that is awesome."

The AL's youngest team, Tampa Bay had never finished better than last in the division and posted the worst record in baseball last year while Boston, one of the league's charter members, was winning its seventh championship. But in just 11 years, the Rays and Red Sox have become fierce rivals, with the latest bench-clearing brawl coming at Fenway Park in June.

"I can't wait to get it going," pitcher Josh Beckett said. "But we've got a few days off to enjoy this."

Los Angeles was able to force the series to a fourth game with an extra-inning victory Sunday night that snapped an 11-game playoff losing streak against Boston.

As it turned out, that gave the Angels less than an 24 extra hours.

"Those guys have certainly, in the last three series that we've been involved with them, they've beaten us," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "I thought we played much better this series than going back to '04 or '07 against them. It's naturally disappointing. But we're going to have to keep trying to get better. That's all we can do."

Jon Lester held the Angels to four hits in seven shutout innings but lost his chance at a second victory in the series when they scored twice in the eighth to tie it 2-all. Los Angeles had a chance to go ahead in the ninth before Erick Aybar, whose 12th-inning single was the winner in Game 3, missed on a squeeze attempt.

In the bottom half, Bay lofted a fly ball down the right-field line that Reggie Willits pursued and dove for before it one-hopped into the stands for a ground-rule double. First baseman Mark Teixeira made a diving catch of Mark Kotsay's line drive for the second out.

Again, it was only a temporary save.

Lowrie grounded a single into right, and Bay raced around third and slid headfirst ahead of the throw while his teammates poured out of the dugout to celebrate.

It's been a common sight in Boston, but one Bay had never taken part in before he was acquired from Pittsburgh when the Red Sox unloaded Manny Ramirez at the July 31 trade deadline.

"The only thing I'm thinking is, 'Get a good jump and don't fall down around third," Bay said. "I can't imagine that it'll get more intense than this, but it will."

Manny Delcarmen got two outs in the ninth for the win, squelching the Angels' chances to take the lead by getting Aybar to whiff on a bunt try with one out and a runner on third. Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, whose passed ball helped Los Angeles tie the game in the eighth, pursued pinch-runner Willits back toward third and made the diving tag a step before the bag.

Varitek lost the ball as he hit the ground, but third base umpire Tim Welke ruled that he had already applied the tag. Scioscia argued, but replays showed that the out was recorded before the ball came loose.

Scot Shields took the loss, allowing two hits and a run while striking out three in 1 2-3 innings.

"We've got a lot of guys that are frustrated right now," Scioscia said. "Can't tell you how proud we are of the way our guys played through the whole summer, and it's unfortunate the way this series turned out."

Lester and John Lackey, who also faced each other in Boston's Game 1 victory, matched scoreless innings through four before Kotsay and Varitek singled and Dustin Pedroia doubled them both in. An AL MVP candidate who was hitless in his first 15 at-bats of the playoffs, Pedroia pulled up one step before second base to bang his hands together in celebration.

But the Angels tied it in the eighth when Teixeira drew a two-out walk from Hideki Okajima, then Justin Masterson walked Vladimir Guerrero. The runners moved up as Masterson and Varitek got crossed up on a passed ball, which proved costly when they scored on Torii Hunter's single to right.

Pedroia's confidence never wavered during the slump, as he showed when he popped out of the dugout for pregame batting practice and said, "You can't keep a good man down."

Or a good team.

The Red Sox may have missed a chance to sweep with Sunday's 5-4, 12-inning loss, but they saved themselves a trip back to Anaheim, Calif., for a winner-take-all Game 5.

Game notes
Lackey was rescued from a second loss in the series when the Angels tied it in the eighth. He allowed two runs and seven hits, giving up four runs in 13 2-3 innings during the series. He was outpitched by Lester both times. ... Hunter was 5-for-11 with runners in scoring position. The rest of the Angels had three hits combined. ... Pedroia was hitless in 19 postseason at-bats dating to the 2007 World Series.

DELAY OF GAME...

THE HOST OF THIS EVENINGS EVENT WILL BE SLIGHTLY DELAYED ON ACCOUNT OF THE OLD LADY WILL BE AT YOGA. I WILL BE ATTENDING AROUND 9-ISH. THE SHED DOORS WILL BE OPEN AT 8:00, IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN PRE-GAME. MY APPOLOGIES. GO SOX. WIN IT EARLY.

Representing Well . . .

Garden Way and Kinsley Road were both represented very well last night, as was Bates Ave. Though Bob left before the end of the Sox game, Ellen's early appearance with two little cherubs more than made up for his lack of stamina. Conlyn Ave. was a "No Show" but with a valid reason, so, it was tolerated. Buddy's awesome pork gave him dispensation from the second half of the double header.

The results were mixed with a Pat's win and a very late Sox loss. But, the Sox have another chance to wrap things up tonight. Another late night is anticipated with an 8:30 start. It will likely be a lot easier on the digestive system for reasons which will not be mentioned here. But, I'm betting some more thoroughly cooked food will be had.

It looks to be a great night! As always, the company will be great!

Bye, Bye, Bye, . . .

After a 9 month run, I'm ending my Starbuck's commitment after my shift today! It's was a great run! I actually enjoyed a lot of the time I spent there. But, it's time to move on. The Pats need me! It's been very difficult missing the games this year, and, it's been even more difficult learning the outcome of last week's performance. I feel guilty that I haven't been there for them. I know it really doesn't mean anything in the long run, but, I do know that the Shed 26 aura has been disrupted. It's probably been disrupted for the better, but, I think, after last year's record with me at the Shed, you guys will have to endure my presence for the sake of the team. :-)

GO PATS!

WEEK OFF

BYE, BYE, BYE. THE BYE WEEK FOR THE PATRIOTS MIGHT HAVE COME AT THE BEST TIME OF THE SEASON FOR THEM. THE PATS NEED TIME TO COME UP WITH CASSEL LIKE STRATERGIES AND GET AWAY FROM ALL THE BRADY-CASSEL COMPARISONS. THE DEFENSE CAN ALSO HAVE A NICE LONG LOOK AT THE DOLPHIN GAME TAPE, THAT SHOULD AT LEAST GUILT THEM INTO PLAYING LIKE THE DEFENSE WE ALL KNOW THEY CAN BE.
WELL LETS ALL CONCENTRATE ON THE SOX FOR AWHILE.

ONE QUESTION BEFORE I GO... SOX MVP- DUSTIN OR YUKE ? THINK ABOUT IT.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

WEEK 2

WEEK 2 :
CASSEL IS THE MAN. HE MANAGED THE TEAM WITH THE DEFENSE CONTROLLING THE JETS. I'M LIKING THE PLAY OF THE "D". TEAMS SHOULD START REFERRING TO #98 AS MR. THOMAS. HE HAD A GREAT SACK ON FARVE. THE WIFE IS HEADING OFF TO THE VINEYARD FOR THE WEEKEND, SO MY TWO LITTLE RUG-RATS WILL BE PRESENT. BIG JAY WILL BE ABSENT AGAIN AND WE'RE ALL HOPIN' FOR BIG STEVE TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A KING SIGHTING AS WELL. WELL, SEE YA AT 1:00.

Game 1 vs KC

Larry Johnson
The key to this week is to stop Larry Johnson. Beyond him, the Chiefs don't have much, Brody Croyle is not going to beat the Patriots. The last time the Patriots played KC was in 2005 when LJ ran for 119 yards on 31 attempts.

The signature event of the weekend will be a once-in-a-lifetime re-induction of 12 Patriots Hall of Famers in a ceremony that is free and open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 3:00 p.m. on the plaza outside The Hall. The Sept. 20 ceremony will also feature the induction of the 13th Patriots Hall of Famer, tight end Ben Coates, who was elected by Patriots fans in 2008.
The inaugural Induction Weekend at The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon will give fans the opportunity to see all of the living Patriots Hall of Famers together at one time in a unique ceremony celebrating the 48-year history of the New England Patriots through its greatest players.

For the last two years, Patriots fans have had the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite candidate for the Patriots Hall of Fame. A nomination committee meets each Spring to discuss candidates and to cast their votes for the Patriots players and head coaches they feel are most deserving of New England Patriots' Hall of Fame induction (players must have been out of the league for four years to be eligible). Those votes are tallied and three finalists are selected. Fans are then given the opportunity to vote on Patriots.com to determine the Hall of Fame inductee. In 2007, Patriots fans chose wide receiver Stanley Morgan as the Patriots 12th Hall of Famer.

Kevin Hart may never return to his daily job as owner of a Marketing firm in Waltham . Earlier today, Hart had a pregame talk with the Redsox that ignited them to an 18-5 rout of the Twins today, and a an important 3 game sweep that brought the Sox within 2 games of the Tampa Bay Ray's. According to Terry , Hart's pregame speech was very emotional

Brilliant!!!!!

Yes, Red Sox fans! It took $50,000 to get it out of it's cold damp tomb, but, does that really end the curse? The stadium is permenantly scarred. They can cover it with new concrete, a concession stand, lockers, even Pebble Tec, but, you know what? It will be there as long as the stadium stands. Sure the Yankee's poo-pood the rumor, but, when it came right down to it, they couldn't take it, and had to knw for sure. Now, instead of a legend without a scar, they have proof and a scar showing everyone that the curse is real. The "Curse of the Bambino" was only legend. This is really, baby!

Papi news

BIG PAPI
Check out the article on the Red sox Blog

"I no come work today . . ."

Hung Chow calls into work and says, "Hey, I no come work today, I really sick. I got headache, stomach ache and legs hurt. I no come work."

The boss says, "I really need you today. When I feel like this, I go to my wife and tell her to give me sex. That makes everything better and I go to work. You try that."

Two hours later Hung Chow calls again. "I do what you say and I feel great. I be at work soon . . . You got nice house."

Quick Thinking . . .

A Florida senior citizen drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left. "Amazing!" he thought as he flew down I-75, pushing the pedal to the metal even more.

Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw the highway patrol behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring. "I can get away from him - no problem!" thought the elderly speedster as he floored it to 100mph, then 110, then 120mph. Suddenly, he thought, "What on earth am I doing? I'm too old for this nonsense!", pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the Trooper to catch up with him.

Pulling in behind him, the Trooper walked up to the driver's side of the Corvette, looked at his watch and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason why you were speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go."

The man, looking very seriously at the Trooper, said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a Florida State Trooper. I thought you were bringing her back."

"Have a good day, Sir," said the Trooper

I'm Webfamous . . .

Hey, Andy,

This is what I was talking about:

http://www.steam-cleaner.us/

FBI JOKE

The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were 3 finalists; two men and a woman.

For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. 'We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair . Kill her!!' The man said, 'You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife.' The agent said, 'Then you're not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home.'

The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, 'I tried, but I can't kill my wife.' The agent said, 'You don't have what it takes. Take your wife home.'

Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping the sweat from her brow. 'This gun is loaded with blanks' she said. I had to beat him to death with the chair.'

MORAL: Women are crazy. Don't mess with them.

I've been Wifed too

While more frequently suseptable to the unceremonious wifing, I am nonetheless unhappy about it. My bride is at the gym and will not return until tipoff. At that point I'll have two glasses of wine in me and at least half the ribs I intended to bring. Happy shedding fellas. See you on the 21st!

Shed-26 to be on Patriots Website

Fellow Sheddies your assistance is needed in registering SHED 26 Sports and Entertainment Complex as one of the Offical Patriots Fan Club locations. Since I didn't have all the info required, I couldn't register us on the Patriots Website. I would recommend that Andy or Jason register us on the site. Cocoaboy .

Redemption!!!!

Perfect games are back at Shed 26!!!! The core shedies were there today for the 2008 opener in Tokyo, and they were not disappointed! The sox played well, the lead changed hands 3 times before it was tied, the game went into extra inning(s), the new guys came through, and the good guys won! What more could we have asked! Dice-K and Okijima both did well in front of their home country, too! Just a great game all around! The mood has been considerable lightened at the Shed!

Thanks to Bob for his ham, egg, cheese, and veggie sandwiches! And, Holy Cow, can he put away the coffee!

It's a great day in the Red Sox Planet, Red Sox Nation, and Shed 26! And we all know, there are more to come! But, you gotta show to get the feel!

March 29 & 30: Elite Eight

See you there? I think It's about time to clense Shed 26 of the stench of the event that shall not be named. We need to start injecting positive energy in prepartion for support for the boys of summer and a new, more dedicated, more positive Pariots season. Tomorrow is a new day! Let's make it a good one! Shed 26 has always been, and conintues to be the place that perfect games go to be seen! Just because we don't like the outcome doesn't mean they aren't perfect games!

Opening Day . . .

On March 24 & 25, 2008, Red Sox Nation will all have their eyes on the land of the rising sun. That's right, the Red Sox open the season early in Japan against the Oakland A's. Dice-K & Okijima get to perform in front ot their home crowd! And so another season begins. Can anyone say "back to back?"
